Pro Tools 2020.3 does not see my ilok license
I just upgraded to Mojave. It has not been smooth sailing, in fact Pro Tools still does not load.
I updated Avid Link and installed Pro Tools directly from Avid Link. Avid Link see's my subscription, my Ilok shows the authorization located on the same dongle as usual. I tried de-authorizing it and re-authorizing but with no luck. I always get the splash screen asking me to authorize Pro Tools and that no license can be found, yet when I click on Show Locations inside this same app it shows the authorized dongle. Any idea what's going on here and how to fix it? Thanks, MacOs 10.14.6 , Mid 2014 MBP 15" 2.8GHz, 16 GB RAM |

Re install iLok manager Toss AAE preferences

I tried your advice but it did not work. I am still having the exact same issue. I emailed Avid but it will likely take a while for them to get back with me. In the meantime I thought I would uninstall Pro Tools ( again) and install 2019. I'm hearing the latest 2020 version is buggy, so maybe this is part of its "bugginess". Any other tips or advice will be greatly appreciated!! |

Hi.
20.3 contains the previous Ilok driver. I think iLok Manager, which is one version before the latest ilok. You can uninstall it from the latest iLok installer and install 20.3. |

Thanks, K.I., but I don't quite understand.
The only Uninstaller the newest Ilok installer has is to uninstall the newest ilok software. I don't understand how to remove this earlier ilok driver. Could you please clarify? Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. |

Also try clean install as it should be, instead of upgrade. Lots of random errors may happen when you upgrade OS

Ilok's installer includes an uninstaller, but some people use AppCleaner for free.

I have uninstalled Pro Tools rebooted and re-installed. No change
I uninstalled the Ilok software as well as pro tools rebooted, re-installed pro tools. No change I then installed Ilok the software, no change. When I uninstall Pro Tools I'm doing it manually. I delete the app, then the pro tools folder inside Library/application support. I then delete preferences using PT Prefs I looked for some way to uninstall this older ilok driver from the Pro Tools install that was mentioned earlier, but I can not figure out how this can be done. Avid has not replied to my support request either so for the time being I'm stuck. I must be special Any other tips or things to try? I included a pic below that shows that the ilok manager sees the license but for some reason does not recognize it. Thanks again for all of your help. Eventually something will have to give. First of all thank you for all of your advice. I truly appreciate all of the help and I come back here and re-read each post to make sure I have tried every option.
Unfortunately no luck so far but an update to what else I have tried: I retried deleting both Pro Tools and Ilok using AppCleaner. I re-synced the ilok manager before running Pro Tools for the first time. I tried moving my license to the cloud. I tried de-activating. Hopefully Avid will reply soon and help me get back up and running. Finger crossed. |

FINAL UPDATE:
I wanted to thank everyone for their help on this issue. I finally got to the end of this problem and in the end it was on Avid's end. There was a mistake with the licenses from my original purchase, so nothing anyone here could have assisted with. Case closed. |
