I'm on a Mac 10.14.6 Mojave. Using HDX at work (Trash Can) and HDN (MBPro) at home. On both systems, PT will become sluggish after a few minutes of working. My MBP sounds like a vacuum cleaner from the fans trying to cool. CPU spikes on the MBP, not on the HDX sys.

I can confirm that most of the issues that I am having are due to working with Video. As soon as I disable video everything runs smoothly. I tried a few different CODECS but with limited success. Dnx maybe felt better but I really can't say.

I rolled back both systems to 2019.12 and all is fine with the world again.

thought I post an update on my bugs issues:

First, I did open 2 tickets with Avid, one of their suggestions solved my*Eucon issue... even though I do see that as a bug since that never was an issue before.
By locking to Pro Tools in the assign tab I no longer get disconnects.

Now to the VCA Coalasce issue: I figured out the cause and fortunately a work around:
Only my drums VCA kept crashing, not matter what session... so I started digging more what is different between my drum VCA and my other VCA's. Turns out I had added the Drums basic folder track to the drum group associated to the VCA. So every time I do a coalesce it goes boom. Remove the folder track from the group and all is well again.... add it back and boom. So this is definitely a bug.
1 mystery solved don't add basic folder tracks to groups if they are part of VCA's Weird one... I wonder if that is because it does not have a fader

Since there was Catalina and 64-bit only, PT installer (2019.12 and later) installs differently on Catalina and the rest for obvious reasons. Made for Catalina so best judged used on Catalina.

Anyone else having PTULT 2020.3 becoming nonresponsive when trying to import session data from V10 session?

You know, since you are on Mojave why not go back to 2019.5 which everyone thought was great..? You should already know that even 2019.12 that was initial compatibility release for Catalina is installing different PT for Catalina and other OS you might be using. Really comparing apples to oranges here if you don't run Catalina.

2020.3 working equally well here on Catalina (those video restrictions do not affect my workflow)

The recall is fine. But when I insert the plugin, it crashes. Even with avid plugins. In particular, there are many problems with insert in DSP. I want you to solve the problem quickly.

Probably dumb question but have you double-checked that *all* your plugins are latest version? Because if plugin A seems to crash your system and plugin B is outdated, the crash may still be plugin B related as every plugin you have in plugin folder is loaded in memory when PT starts.
