Default Audio Starts to Crackle

I play loops for a few minutes, then the audi starts to crap out. All the stuff that's supposed to be disabled and enabled is. But no matter what after a few loops it starts to poop. I reset the hardware setups exactly where they were (bring up the screen and press ok) and it comes back for a minute or so. Then maybe the whole program will crash. I'm running a Dell Inspiron 3800 PIII 600 MHz, 192MB RAM, Windows ME. ESS3i chipset I believe. Anyone have any ideas?

Yeah, what a drag! I've looked on the site and seen all the posts since I first posted this. I uninstalled and I'm going back to Cakewalk, which works fine with my sound card. I only lost two days or so messing with this program. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone and would be wary of buying Pro Tools for Windows. Oh well.

I have the same problem with a Dell Latitude - PIII650, 512 MB etc. Just a crappy sound card I guess.
I would however highly recommend BUYING Protools - because with a DIGI card it is awesome.
