Focusrite Clarett 4Pre and PT11
I have 27" iMac, OS is Yosemite 10.10.2, so that's not an issue, its not a retina display, so that isn't either.
I'd like to take advantage of the advantages of Thunderbolt and move on from my Mbox Pro 3 to a Thunderbolt Audio Interface. So really looking at the Focusrite Clarett 4Pre. I hear a lot of great things about Focusrite. But my question is, will this work with Pro Tools 11? Thanks!

Re: Focusrite Clarett 4Pre and PT11
Sure. It's not Pro Tools that matters as much as the interface drivers and utilities supporting the OS version.
27" iMac tells us little useful info. Presumably it has Thunderbolt? (no seriously people have made that mistake). |

Lol!!! Hell no. No Fusion drive. Used to have an HDD, but replaced it with SSD once the warranty was up..

Re: Focusrite Clarett 4Pre and PT11
The Focusrite Clarett 4Pre for sure is a nice option and it probably will work well with PT.
Nevertheless from my personal experience with the UA Apollo interfaces I think an UA Apollo Twin could be the better, more stable, more reliable option at the end of the day. Have you considered getting those already? Even if you are not into to the UA plugins that much the Apollo interfaces are the most reliable and most stable ones with all the current versions of Pro Tools at the moment. So you might consider buying those as well. Of course the Apollo Twin got 2 pres only but there΄s an additional 8 channel Adat option which will allow you to connect another 8 inputs to your interface later. Anyway. Fact is that the UA Apollo interfaces are working really well with Pro Tools at the moment. You might check it out as well as they are on sale at Sweetwater now for example.. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/ApolloTwinD http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/ApolloTwinS Whichever interface you are going to get finally, I wish you the best of success with it! Cheers. |

Re: Focusrite Clarett 4Pre and PT11
Or look at RME if you don't want the UAD plug-ins. Rock solid drivers and a software mixer that, although it has a steep learning curve, is one of the best. A lot of their interfaces are also Class Compliant so will work with iPads.
