Yes the new 15 Air will have an M2 chip And apparently there will be a new 14 and 16 MBP with new M2 Pro and M2 Max chips coming late this year or early 2023

I believe this is all still just in the rumor mill though.

It would be aptly named since it's rumored to feature TSMC's upcoming 3-nanometer chip design. So yeah, hardware has moved on, whilst Avid can no longer hide its Intel-native software with bottlenecks. Too many users have jumped ship to silicon-native DAWs

Their only hope at this point is to quickly roll out an ARM-based, lite-version of PT and make sure it's hiccup-free... then build on top of it.

Sure, I trust Mark, but I felt that any prediction about the name of the processor is a little premature this far out, especially since many seem to be rolling their eyes at the M2 moniker due to its lackluster performance gain. I'm *hoping* that Spring 2023 will offer a truly exciting CPU upgrade, deserving of the M3 badge.

Oh name sure,, I was thinking more of time when the new 15 Air is likely to launch and assuming it would still be a 5 nm chip but yes it is just my speculation that I don't see a rename until the 3 nm chips
