Running PTLE7.1 on intel iMac with Bootcamp
Hey
This might not be worth anything.. But I just wanted to let you know that I switched to mac from pc last month.. And while waiting for the osx intel update of PT I installed BootCamp and then XP and run it in windows at the moment. Might sound like a stupid idea, but it solved my not-being-able-to-record-problem right now. I don't know if it has been posted here before, I just wanted to mention that it works.. pretty neat actually.. Does anyone else have it set up like this? Would be nice to hear what others have to say about it.. I have some weird problems evey now and then, like it says the buffer is too small.. but 99% of the problem is solved just by changing a setting and then changing it back, and then it works like a charm.. so far at least.. |

i just found out that midi works almost as it should if the edit window is closed durig playback.. i also updated my interlok drivers, and it almost worked as it should with the edit window open then..
before this, i also followed the troubleshooting faq for xp.. not minding the bios section.. |

You don't have to buy any special cds.. I have no idea how microsoft handles your serial if you install on different machines, but i'm sure it will work..
BUT, the install cd MUST contain service pack 2. i don't actually know why, but apple states this on several places. other than that, xp will just believe that the computer is like any other pc.. just be sure to follow the instructions when you install bootcamp, and you'll probably be fine. |
