This update is recommended for all D-Show 2.8.x console software users and contains fixes in the following areas:- Plug-in processing
- Snapshot crossfades
- Device discovery
- Personal Q
What's Fixed in Version 2.8.5?
The following issues are present in all previous versions of D-Show software 2.8.x, and are now fixed in version 2.8.5.
Fixed: Plug-in Noise issue (Item VSW-5077)- Inserting plug-ins in the Plug-ins Rack sometimes produces noise on the channels with plug-ins inserted, or causes audio to stop passing through the plug-in. This can happen, for example, when adding plug-ins to the Plug-ins Rack, when moving plug-ins between rack slots, or when loading a Show file.
- The issue is limited to system configurations using 0, 8 or 16 Graphic EQs (GEQs), and is most likely to occur immediately after modifying the configuration of the Plug-ins Rack (including loading a Show file). There is little chance of encountering the issue during a performance; however, it could arise when switching Show files between bands (each with its own plug-ins rack), or during a rehearsal when the engineer is trying different plug-in configurations.
Fixed: Snapshot Crossfades can Cause the Console Fader Position to Show an Incorrect Value (Item VSW-5160)- When using crossfades to transition between snapshots, the console faders may show a different position than the actual value, which is shown on-screen. When this occurs, touching a fader may cause a noticeable jump in level.
Fixed: Lost Control Surface Components are Not Shown as Missing on the Options > Devices Tab (Item VSW-5158)- When a VENUE Profile console, VENUE D-Show Main or VENUE D-Show Sidecar is lost (such as during a power failure, or when the unit is turned off or disconnected from system) the unit remains visible on the Options > Devices tab instead of being shown as not connected.
Fixed: Blue “Controller Detected” LEDs in PQ View of the Outputs Page Fail to Illuminate when the System is Initially Powered Up (Item VSW-5752)- If the Personal Q Rack is connected when the system is initially powered on, any connected Personal Q Controllers will fail to report their "Controller Detected" status on the Outputs Page of the D-Show software. Power cycle the PQ Rack or hot plug the PQ Controllers to refresh the "Controller Detected" status.
