Default Mix/Edit Window Track Selection

Is there a way to separate track selection from Mix & Edit windows? Right now they are linked. What I select in Mix, I see in track.

I don't want to eat up my real estate in the edit window with send/return channels, master faders, etc. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Joel
