Default midi keyboard controller problems...

I'm about to lose my mind about something I know is simple. I use Reason 3.0. I use a Edirol PCR-500 as a controller. The problem is whenever I attempt to play keys (strings, bass, etc.) to my drum tracks, every note I play sustains continuously without me using the pedal. I have to click stop on the Reason transporter to get it to stop ringing. Also, when I play certain notes it triggers or plays some of my drum patches from the Redrum. Is there a way to turn this off as well? HELP!!!

Default Re: midi keyboard controller problems...

ONe possibility that comes to mind is to check the polarity on your sustain pedal. Some pedals are the opposite of the keybaord's, so they sustain when "up" and cut off when pressed. It might be your controller sees the pedal as pressed and is sending the sustain info to Reason. try unplugging it altogether and see what happens.

As for the Re-drum trigger, you have to tell it to not pay attention to a midi start signal, basically. You should be able to do this by clicking on the "run" button on Re-drum to turn it off. With run on, any note you play will automatically start up whatever sequence is in Re-drum. I found this out the hard way, too.

Hope this helps.
