Hey Rowan I'm from the land of Oz as well, I do basically what SoS suggested and include it on my contents insurance specifically along with certain items of jewellery, guitars, triathlon bikes (what the... you have no idea how expensive those suckers can be) make sure you take photos and serial numbers. My mob is RAC home insurance. I couldn't tell you off the top of my head what the premium is (a couple of hundred I think???).
