Check loud and soft, yes, but mix at constant volume, as in use SPL meter and signal generator and calibrate the position of your volume knob to 85dB pink noise.
Listening fatigue is real phenomenon, breaks are a must. And if you feel too busy to take a break, consider one more reality check which is the hallway check, or "go outside of the room and make the single door make your stuff mono"
