The 001 is the only card on a pci slot, but the POST says the display adapter and network card are on pci busses too, though on different bus #s. I hit record, and if it starts at all it stops a few seconds later, usually with an error like 6045 6042 9094. Mostly 6045. I shut down all other processes, I have very minimal services running, I changed the playback buffer settings back and forth. This happens when installed in the 6.1, 6.1.1 and 6.4cs9 versions. I would either try the DEP fix listed at the top of the DUC under installing WinXP with SP2 or reinstall XP using SP1 for starters.
Next I would unhook your second drive and try recording to the system drive to see if you can reproduce the same problem. If that doesn't work then it isn't your hard drive.
I will let you know that there are some issues with this motherboard and the 001. 002 users seem to be immune to them. Before you throw your system out the window, I'd try a different motherboard that is more compatible like the A7V600. Hope the DEP fix or SP1 helps you out here.
