So perhaps the only thing to concern yourself with is if your 2010 5,1 has a processor at least as fast as those listed for the 2012's. In my case I'm running a 12 core configuration that is faster than you could buy in 2012. A processor upgrade on a 5,1 is relatively cheap and simple to do.

Adventurous as I am I have installed PT Ultimate 2019.10 on my mid-2010 MacPro HDX-machine (OS 10.13.6) and it works like a charm.
When having a session open with 10 Stereo tracks in 48KHz./32bits float with the Avid Channel Strip inserted in each channel and scroll like wild during playback, my CPU shows 1% of usage...
