Haven't checked gearslutz today, but had you only posted there, I would've answered!

Ditch the SCSI and serial MIDI. SCSI is overrated and serial MIDI is not supported by Digidesign with OS X. Do you have a 1st generation machine as suggested? Single or dual 1.25GHz G4? I have late model duals of that lineage, and they are filled with PCI cards, and they work as they should, though I don't use them with OS 9.
