Something worth trying if you decide to open up the unit to re-seat the cables (and it's probably wise to actually re-seat them rather that just jiggle them around a bit). Before plugging them back in, treat them with Caig Pro-Gold spray (unless Digi specifically cautions against doing so). If the problem is in any way associated with oxidation/corrosion, this stuff works wonders to clean and protect conductive surfaces. It's probably just good preventive maintenance in any case.
