I guess this depends on your idea of "proper" training. As a studio owner and possible employer, I would probably place equal value on an internship and you being able to demonstrate the ability to "deliver the goods". Many years ago, I hired a Full Said graduate that turned out to have very little ability, while another hire(same time period) who came in with little to no formal training, turned out to be a much better engineer(sometimes attitude can trump training). Having said this, I am very "old school" so we both might benefit from some "new school" insight
