Default Delay compensation of I/O plug on parallel Auxes broken?

Am I under the mistaken assumption that external hardware fed via an I/O plug-in on an Aux track is supposed to be automatically compensated for via PT's delay compensation?

I'm trying to run a parallel compression bus being fed by sends on drum tracks with the I/O plug on the Aux; in the mixer it shows 2130 samples of delay and 0 compensation (see pic). If I use a plug-in for the compression on the Aux it's compensated for just fine.

Actually, I just checked and even an I/O insert on a track isn't compensated for; I thought that was part of spending all the dosh on HD? I still have to measure/enter delays in samples, convert to MS and enter it in I/O setup? And have different numbers for each sample rate?!?
