What do you hear the system sounds on? Studio monitors? Via the 11r?
Interesting but I would try to see if you could disable the Mac from using / accessing system sounds.
B/c if you have PT up, bring down the master fader, play the 11r, do you hear the sounds?
If so that means that you are hearing it on the Mac OS X side of life......
