It sounds to me that you are getting away with this because your SRC is of the modern type that is resolving any issues with clocking, however, it might not work with other makes of SRC and for my own point of view, I would be unhappy to have two clocks running the system if for however small the chance, it could produce any possible conflict.

An alternative would be to take the video black into the system, and then distribute the clock forward to the digico. I still don't see why the Digico couldn't be set to 48khz, as far as I was aware they could work at both 96 and 48?
