Any benefit of 2nd internal drive for audio instead of firewire drive?
I recently picked up a G4 (MDD 1.25, 2 gigs of RAM) tower for next to nothing to use as a second/family computer. I also plan to do some light Pro Tools editing on it (7.4).
For now, I pulled the hard drive out of my firewire enclosure and mounted it as a second drive inside the G4 tower.
I've opened a couple of moderate-sized sessions with it, and everything seems to run smoothly.
I'm *assuming* that a second internal is quicker & more stable for audio recording than a firewire drive, even though there's nothing wrong with firewire.
Just curious if there's a discussion there... Meaning, is one just as good as the other? Or does a 2nd internal actually read & write data faster than a firewire drive?
Thanks for the tips-
