Is there a way to connect an outboard compressor to the Mbox permanently?

I know there is inserts on the Mboxm but would like to connect an external Comp so that i can "record" the compression on mixdown (bounce to disk) as part of the mix?

Is this possible?

Also along the same lines, is it possible to connect with inserts/sends, an outboard midi filter so that i can create midi automation by drawing in PT but control the outboard filter? also would this be recorded as a BTD?
