Default Re: Arranging/producing

Try this, this is has helped me to see songs with a clearer view.

Take a song that you find interesting and can't really tell what type of arrangement it has, import it into your DAW and break it down into it's segments with the help of arranger markers e.g. Intro (8 bars), 1st Verse (12 bars), Hook (12 bars) etc.

You'll find out that a lot of arrangements do creatively what suites the SONG best not the beat. There are a lot of songs that don't use the regular 8, 16, 8, 16 etc. schema.

At the end of the day it's really about how you hear the SONG (vocals + instrumentals) in your head and then form everything according to it.
