Unfortunately, no one of us can give you much guidance without hearing the source material. Dynamics processing values are useless without a context.
With that said, compression ratio of 10 is usually considered limiting so I think you might get better results with a proper limiter. If you're on a budget, and even if you had the money, please take a look at
www.masseyplugins.com and try the L2007 limiter.
