I have found the exact opposite to be the case for me.
When every track in the session is going out outputs 1-2 everything is as it should be.
As soon as I start bussing and routing through aux busses, it’s like the transients get smeared. Punch is gone and the stereo field seems narrower.
Also the case if there are any plugins on the Master Fader.
This is by no means fact. It could just be my brain messing with me.
Then again, I have been doing this a long time.
