Default Re: Keyboard Shortcuts-Apple Thin Keyboard

There is a software update for the aluminum keyboards, but I'm not sure which OS version it applies to. Take a look on the Apple site in downloads...

My MacPro didn't come with the aluminum keyboard, but I got one last Christmas and it works fine.. I did install the update. f6-f7 turns on the smart tool, etc..

I believe you do need to turn off the default way the "fn" key works...

In other words, I had to set mine so that if I want to adjust the volume using f11-f12, I need to hold down the fn key. By default, I think the keyboard is set as if "fn" is always on... If you catch my drift...

The option is in System Preferences>Keyboard&Mouse> Keyboard tab>"Use all f1 f2 etc keys as standard function keys"

I also turned off the expose and dashboard shortcuts for keys f9-f12...
