I just received my 002r.
1)What laptop would you suggest? What ones to stay away from?

i'm sure someone much better informed can chime in on that one (ahem, Allen [img]images/icons/smile.gif[/img] )

2) What are some compact studio monitors (active or passive) that you like the sound of.

now, how compact are we talkin' here? are you planning on goin' real mobile with this? well, i just remembered you are asking about laptops, so i guess that's a yes.

a really nice set of speakers is the Genelec 1029. check them out!

3) Should I be able to hear a difference in sound from the 001 vs 002r? (I think I can, I think I can.)

when you say you think you can, have you already A/B'ed them?
