my MacBook does the work fine,
If you need the features of the Pro (MUCH more GFX power, bigger screen, ExpressCard support, FireWire800) and can afford it then get it!
And also get an external FireWire HD with a Oxford chipset. Recording to the internal
HD WILL result in problems eventually.
If you are on a budget the cpu power of a MacBook will run PT just fine.
The Speed jump from a G4 to a Core2Duo is dramatic!
You should also consider: if you donīt need to be mobile, the new iMac is much more bang for the buck than a MacBook.
