Default Re: Hard drive back up services

I think you might have better luck buying a few 1 Tera drives and just mirroring. A dedicated company will surely charge you more than the price of the HDs. And 4 Teras on DVDs? That's just nuts! Not to mention the not-so-reliable shelf life.

I use an app called Tri-Backup (http://www.tri-edre.com/english/tribackup.html) which automatically updates the mirrors incrementally. I looked into the whole backup to DVD thing and it was a no-go.

Maybe a little more detail may help...
This is the tertiary copy of a catalog archive.

Copy 1 resides on a stor case removable.
Copy 2 resides on a RAID setup.
And I’ve chosen DVD as the media for the 3rd copy.

As far as it being "nuts", my client would disagree.
Not that thiis is a “price is no object” situation, but the label has a budget for this, im just looking for folks with experience with a particular archiving service.

4 or 5 companies who perform this service daily have contacted me.
Again, I was hoping to speak with others who have archived in this fashion.
