Can't answer directly, but .....
It does work on a 2015 MBP on Catalina and...
it doesn't work on a 2011 MBA on High Sierra.
So your laptop is compatible (although you should expect the fans to come on, as AVB is good at upsetting CPUs) but you may need to upgrade your OS.
