Well, sansamp can do this, amplitube also probably has this capability... They simulate amps. is that what you're looking for? remember, Garbage in, garbage out, so you're best getting the sound right in the first place.

a light reverb and a hard compressor can also bring up the trailing end of a note to make it seem like there is more sustain. A chain may be signal->reverb->compressor->sansamp->limiter. Though someone else will probably have a more authoritative solution, that's just the first way I'd try it. Good luck!
