Re: Eleven Rack Editor - Error Initializing MIDI Engine
Hi there,
I had been working on this issue and I fortunately have the Editor running.
My environment:
OS Name Microsoft Windows 11 Home
Version 10.0.22621 Build 22621Intel(R)
USB 3.1 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.10 (Microsoft)
Name AudioBox 22VSL
Manufacturer PreSonus
Driver 3.6.4.87069 Universal Control
Status OK
Name Realtek High Definition Audio
Manufacturer Realtek
Status Error
Name Intel(R) Display Audio
Manufacturer Intel(R) Corporation
Status Error
The Eleven Rack is turned off at the moment, however, the driver version is the updated 1.1.12 (x64) posted by Avid in April 2021, with the Eleven Rack Editor 1.0.
The solution:
The error is not related to the USB compatibility as explained in several forums. I have installed Eleven Rack Editor successfully in computers running windows 10 and 11, using USB 3.0, 3.1 and 3.2 ports. The Midi engine issue is related to conflicting audio drivers.
To make it work I just simply disabled the following devices in the Windows Device Manager, and immediately worked without restarting the computer:
- Intel(R) Display Audio - This device is disabled.
- Realtek(R) Audio - This device is disabled.
Hope it helps.
