[Moon Shark]

Just getting started with the Fast Track Duo and Pro Tools Express.

Got my mic plugged into the front input #1.
On my Mono audio track the I/O is: In 1 / Out 1-2 (as per multiple tutorials)

I hear my voice in my headphones when speaking into the mic, but see no levels on screen. When I press the red record-enable button ... I get loud white noise.

If I change the output setting to Bus 1-2 (stereo) the noise goes away, and I can hear my voice and record wave forms on screen. But can't hear playback in my headphones of what I just recorded.

This is just not consistent with the tutorials I'm watching, and if someone could explain what's going on here, and tell me what I need to be doing to correct the problem it would be much appreciated. Thanks.
