I have this problem with PT (Standard) 2018/19 - currently on 2019.5. MacOS 10.14.5, MacBook Pro 15-inch 2018, 32GB RAM.

I have the mix window open on the MBP and the edit window on my Apple Thunderbolt Display. Neither are full screen. Every session I open both windows are on the MBP and I move the edit window to the external display and save. Yet the next time I open the session both windows are back on the MBP.

The display is connected via a Caldigit TS3 Plus dock.
