Default Strange Problem PT 6.9.1

Yesterday I opened a session to make some small changes in a mix (drums, bass, 2guitars, vocal and a small backup vox part). when it got to the backup vox there was WAAAY more verb than was on it when i saved it last week. So I muted all the sends and it was still there. Then I noticed that an unused Reverb One was puting out a lot of verb. So how was this unused Reverb One getting input? Checked all my bussing to make sure there was no cross bussing. Muted the Backup Vox and it stopped. Restarted PT and still there as long as the Backup vox was on. So after wasting session time I just muted the Aux channel Reverb One was on. Later I opened it again and it was still there but now the main Vox also had the same thing happening. muted all the sends and this time on both the main Vox and Backup when I muted the pitchshift send it stopped on both tracks. Next I deactivated and reactivated the Reverb One aux channel and I was back to normal, no more reverb problem. This has happened on other sessions and could not find the cause while in session. It seems with no input you can get Reverb from random tracks.
Makes you/me wonder what else is changing in sessions from time to time that may be hard to track down or make any sense at all.
The system is HD2 (non accel) PT 6.9.1 Mac OS 10.3.8, 1.25gh G4 w/1.25g of ram
