Default Re: NEW UPDATED Room Calibration for Film and TV Post

In relation to the last few posts on this thread, I've noticed something about the frequency response of the signal generator in pro tools.

The attached image shows both on SPAN (set to AVG, 1/6 octave smoothing, Slope 3.00; to get a 'flat' visual).

Basically, the Dolby Pink looks pretty flat across the whole spectrum. The Pro Tools Pink varies up to 2db at around 60hz and 1.7khz

The SPAN plugin was duplicated with all the same settings, so this is a subjective hard comparison between the Pro Tools signal generator and the Dolby Pink audio file.

I've read how the PT signal gen plugin isn't desired for various reasons, but don't recall anything about the frequency response.

Use the Dolby -- the crest factor is important.
Is this anomaly I'm seeing crest factor related?

With an RTA..wouldn't these frequency anomalies cause some problems???

Is this an intentional freq. resp for PT Pink? Or should it have looked like the Dolby Pink freq. response? (SPAN plugin: PT on the left, Dolby on the right)
