Hmmm, shooting from the hip as you have some "antique" gear, but transport control is likely handled via HUI, which is configure under Setup>Peripherals(if the D8B has a USB port on it, its likely just for that purpose)
do what you like, but personally, I would go to 48K instead of 44.1
