At last! I've found someone else who has seen this huge bug. Honestly, the initial response was disappointing. Maybe not many people work this way. I reported it to Avid, but they never seem to reply. You can also report it. Avid never seems to take things like this seriously,
Maybe they will if enough people complain...
I'm in the process of recreating my templates using folder tracks. Apart from large mix templates, I have lots of VI's and other stuff that I import into sessions. The idea was to give these imports a small footprint (because the sessions already have lots of tracks) so I can open them as and when needed, but the purpose is defeated.
