Normally 10.6.7 should be the osx version that fits PTHD 8.1.1
But for that waves 8 should be the ones.
As far as i can remember at the time respecting compatibilities was the thing to do but mabe somehow, your actual set up might work.
Have tou tried a clean install for all this ?
Still i do remember a rock solid gear with 10.6.8 + PTHD 10 + Waves 9.3
