Thank you, Pete. Deleting that single file seems to have fixed the problem. In addition, I had a session file on my desktop that would automatically start in my log in items list when the computer booted up. It was basically a mastering chain converter calibration session for my Lavry Gold that I do each morning before working. In addition to trashing that preference file and moving that session to a different drive the recent files list now works as expected. I cannot imagine that having a session open on the desktop from the log in items would delete all recent files on restart, but it seems to have played a part with the corruption of that pref file.
Thank you very much for thoughtfully responding to my questions. I am still a user of your software and also doubt that it was directly to blame.
