I set the affinity to only use one core and it didn't help the problem.. I ran 'digitest' and it says it failed the 'bus master test'. It still works in my old computer - the 001 isn't defective. I used a friend's copy of SP1 just to test to see if that was the issue.. Same problem, so now I've reinstalled my SP2 copy of XP, and installed all updates.

This HAS to be a hardware thing, right?

Is it possible the 001 isn't getting enough power (current) through the PCI bus? Or, maybe is there a way to change the IRQ it's using (besides switching slots)? It's on IRQ 16 and the other slot is IRQ 17. These are shared with sound / ethernet, but I've tried disabling everything in the bios so the 001 has it's own IRQ and it still gives the same error on launch. I've got a 500 Watt power supply, so it's not starving from watts.

Any more ideas? I have a Black Lion 002R on the way in about three weeks, but I'd love to get this working - as I've got a couple of projects starting in the next day or two.
