I just moved from Hell's Kitchen, I miss it!

Ok, new question. First of all, thank you for your insight. I'm a bit behind the 8 ball with the tech side of this all. I upgraded to 7.3 last night, and that's when nothing worked plug in wise. I was then told this morning by a friend, that he had the same problem, so he went back to 7.1.2 and everything worked fine. Will 7.1.2 work with my new Imac, or does it have to be 7.3?
