Default Pro Tools 2022.7 + macOS 12.5.1

IMPORTANT

macOS 12.5.1
was just created by Apple this week because of a serious security issue found. There is an active hacking happening, and news sources hit the streets immediately.

I notified all of the product managers at Avid of the issue, and made it clear that despite Avid's qualifications, there would probably be a lot of users out there upgrading their macOS to 12.5.1 regardless if Pro Tools 2022.7 was qualified for it or not. Thus, it would be advisable to see if they could get as many eyeballs (and ears) on that macOS into testing as possible.

They pulled their resources into an emergency testing session. (Hard to do on a Friday.) They have already been testing 12.5.0 since it came out in beta, and so good things have already been given a (+) on the qualifications checklist.

Shortly before 7:00pm EST, I got the email that they approved it.

So... If you are running macOS Monterey 12.5.0 or earlier, and you are on a version of Pro Tools that is Monterey-qualified, then you are cleared to upgrade your macOS to 12.5.1 to avoid any potential security issues from Apple's vulnerability with the previous OS versions.

If you are on Catalina or Big Sur, your macOS is fine, however there is a Safari update that you might want to consider. (Not mandatory for Pro Tools operations.)
