Hi there emajane,

Could you try restarting the App completely as follows:

1. Click the home button once to return your iPad to the home screen.
2. Double-click the home button to display your running apps.
3. Touch and hold the Scorch icon until a red quit icon appears.
4. Touch the quit icon.
5. Press the home button again to exit the end app mode.

Now try starting Scorch again and see if you get better results. If not, do let me know and I will set you up a case in our private support centre.
