Re-installing Pro Tools should not touch your sessions AT ALL.

The only time it would is if you were (very) mistakenly saving your sessions inside the Digidesign Databases folder on your sessions drive.


With that said, backing up sessions is a VERY smart idea no matter what. "Save Copy In..." from within the program is the best way to ensure that you are backing up all of the session data. There are also multiple backup solutions that are definitely recommended (Acronis True Image or some other disk imaging software, external backup drives, DVD-R, etc)
