No idea about the live desks but with the studio desks D-Controls (original and ES) use Penny & Giles faders and D-Commands used Alps (original blue ones used one type of Alps (conductive plastic track) and most of the later ES models used a different type of Alps (carbon track), the later types are retro-fittable to blue D-Commands in banks of 8).
