I spent an hour on the phone holding, etc talked with customer service then tech support at Avid and finally to the Avid store people.
The Avid store people are aware of this glitch in the system - trying to upgrade from V3 to V5. They said they are working on a fix and added my email to a list they had. We are not the only people with this problem and they hope to get it resolved in the next day or so.
