Default Re: Current $499 USD Ultimate Upgrades for Perpetual v12/higher (FAQ says HD9/higher)

Today’s email from Avid (almost) set the record straight:

The $499 USD Upgrade for a HD9 to HD11 perpetual license is only available from Resellers – here’s the full message:

* The 33% savings offer is available only through June 30, 2022, to Pro Tools | HD 9 and later or Pro Tools Ultimate perpetual license owners without a 1-Year Software Updates + Support Plan. Plans may be purchased after this offer has expired at regular $749 USD pricing.

** If you have a Pro Tools | HD 12 or later or Pro Tools Ultimate perpetual license that’s registered in your Avid Account, you can upgrade through your Avid Account or local reseller. Pro Tools | HD 9–11 perpetual license owners can upgrade through your local reseller only.

I wrote "(almost)" because a slight ambiguity remains - so I replied to this email with this question:

Please clarify:
Does the "Pro Tools | HD 9–11 perpetual license" also have to be "registered in your Avid Account" - or can someone who bought a used Pro Tools | HD 9 to HD 11 (that is on their iLok, but has not been transferred to their Avid account) also upgrade from a Reseller?
