I would feed midi from the R70 to a midi track, put it in record and go. Since its a drum machine, it will(should) have a rock-solid tempo, so you can use the Identify Beat function to build a tempo map(always good to practice that one
). But as said, you CAN tell Pro Tools to follow incoming midi time too(and likely you could feed MTC from the session into the R70 too)
