Default Re: Unsexy feat. request #2 - Import session data & track na

Why doesn't Pro Tools include "Track Name" as an option in the Import Session Data dialog? There are dozens of other exotic things that you can import, including "Comments," why not track names?

Often, we get sessions back from the foley stage and our track names and comments are gone because either they recorded into new tracks or blew away the track names (they constantly rename the tracks so the recorded regions are named accordingly). So, we can either relabel our tracks by hand or import our template and drag the new tracks into the template tracks. Both can be a pain when you are dealing with lots of tracks and thousands of regions.

A great feature in the Import Session Data dialog is the ability to import "Some" of the data and NOT the actual playlists. We use this all the time for I/O labels and such. I like to use it to import just the comments from my template session (not the playlists) and choose my newly recorded tracks as the destination. This is great because it quickly relabels our new tracks with our template comments. Why isn't "Track Name" an option here as well? To be able to import the track names and comments in one fell swoop would be elegant.

yes, and color coding would be cool as well.
