Thanks Cowboy Bob. Good idea... didn't think of that. I thought I was going to have to get a different service provider. However, I contacted Cox Support and their 2nd tier of support showed me how to go into my account and retrieve emails that they screened out as spam and then forward them to my inbox and that worked.
